My Little Artiste

This is Claire's rendition of Claude Monet's Le Pont Japonais a Giverney. I think she is so talented and it sure made me smile to see this. I will definitely give it a frame and a home on our wall.

I am done posting for a while. We are on our way to Alaska via the Inland Northwest Passage. The next few days will be busy; finishing up school, appointments, packing, and driving to Vancouver, B.C. I am looking forward to going but wishing it was a week later. My beans are just starting to come up in the garden and I hate missing June weather in Washington. Oh well. I'm sure I'll have some awesome pictures to post later this month. Bon voyage!

Happy Birthday

Eight years ago Monday, I was shopping in the Nordstrom's lingerie section in Spokane when my water broke. I distinctly remember the exact moment and my excitement when I realized I was going to meet Claire soon. Now, eight years later, I'm sitting here feeling like a cliche because I just can't help wondering where the time went. She's eight. That's like a big kid age. She's finishing second grade and starting to care what she looks like when she leaves home in the mornings. She's grown into this amazingly sweet and sensitive child who has great artistic abilities and a lot of empathy and compassion for all creatures. I made this little letter "C" for her birthday because I love her and she thinks my art is cool.
